New Hampshire Attorney General Michael Delaney, right, and Vermont Attorney General William Sorrell meet on Monday, May 14, 2012 in Norwich, Vt. The attorneys general of New Hampshire and Vermont are reaffirming the border between the two states. The two met Monday at the center point over the Connecticut River on the bridge between Norwich, Vt., and Hanover, N.H. State laws require the attorneys general to meet to reaffirm the border every seven years. The laws followed a 1935 U.S. Supreme Court decision that settled what had been a bitter border dispute between the two states.
